“Not your average self help book.

1,000 Roads to Discover is a compilation of poems, quotes, thoughts, feelings, lessons and experiences through the years. It’s said that a lesson will repeat itself until it is learned. The topics were chosen as a result of repeated appearances through my life. 

For years I was writing, performing, sharing or just storing work without a final intention for them. A few years ago, I began to notice these themes. I would look back at something I wrote as a teenager or young adult and draw a connection immediately to something I was experiencing presently. I decided that I would present these themes one day in a written journey. I have written Positive Reinforcement: Daily Declarations, which falls into the “self-help” genre. I refer to that as a life jacket, as it saved me during a time in my life I felt I was drowning. 

1,000 Roads of Discovery allows a peek behind the curtain. An introduction to some of the reasons the life jacket was necessary.

There is a development of a storyline in this body of work. Though not in synchronized order, the evolution is prevalent.

I intentionally began with some of the more difficult topics and move into what I have done to cope and to grow from all that I have encountered. The earliest poem was written in 2003 at the age of 16. With work expanding throughout a total of 13 years, there are many shifts that occur. There were changes in perspective and even spirituality. My path has changed many times. Along the way, I learned that discovery is not a destination or a religion, but the journey itself. That is what I wanted to share with the world. ”
