Struggles Of A Starving Artist

Thoughts on charging for services for a writer and new author:

As an artist, I struggle. Though I am in love with my craft and find my work valuable, I am aware that I provide an optional service. It's not like it's required to live like food or water. Not even a beauty, weight loss product or something we obsess over in American culture. I know that people would continue to live on without my work. My goal is to make them not want to.

To make them want to hear what I have to say and want to spread the word. To make something that was once optional, a necessity in the mind and hearts of people the universe intends to receive it. I desire my words and projects to be sought after like the latest technology or a favorite beauty product. I know that I have to work and expose myself and my art in order to achieve that. That means giving people free access so that they get to know me. Fans of my work will then hopefully want to support projects I release for sale. I have to first earn their respect, their interest, and their loyalty.
